Meet McMex! And some fabulous “burds” of course…

I love the “launch” of mascots – it always fails miserably. Especially in Scotland – I’m old enough to remember “Scoticus”, the Daily Records cartoon mascot for Italia 90 and “Bad Yin McFadyen”, the SFAs Tony Roper inspired character who was “the parent from hell!” (the ! made him sound like Poochie)…so it was no surprise that I had no memory of “McMex”, the Scottish mascot for the 1986 World Cup…they even trooped out some fabulous football “burds” and still no dice. Maybe it wasn’t McMex’s fault, maybe it was starting Arthur Albiston in the Uruguay game…that’s probably it…
